Coordinator of Campus Life

The Coordinator of Campus Life (CCL) is a new position and member of the Student Life staff that works under the direction of the Director of Campus Life. The CCL assisting in the overall operation of the Residence Life program and is a 12 month live-in position with a furnished 2 bedroom apartment and board plan (when the food service meal plan is open for fall and spring semesters). The CCL is responsible for up to 300 students consisting mainly of traditional first year students.

  • Administers the day to day operation for two residence halls including opening and closing
  • Supervises 10 student resident assistants (RA) and one student residence assistant director (RAD): including staff selection, training and evaluations.
  • Meet with paraprofessionals staff regularly both individually and as a team
  • Serve on the professional staff duty rotation and assist RAs in responding to student issues
  • Promote student development and assist students with their behavioral, emotional and psychological needs and make referrals as appropriate.
  • Engage in meaningful interactions with students
  • Supervise hall desk operation with assistance from the RAD, including hiring, time sheets, and trainings
  • Advise Residence Hall Association (RHA)
  • Track and facilitate hall assignments, room changes and inspection forms
  • Manage the programing plan, including managing the programming budget in assigned area
  • Maintain up-to-date files
  • Hold student conduct meetings and document through the Maxient Conduct system.
  • Participate in divisional and campus committees
  • Represent the department in a courteous and professional manner
  • Assist the Director of Campus Life with duties as assigned including but not limited to new student orientation, campus wide programming and assisting students living off campus.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree OR,
    • 8 years relevant experience OR,
    •  an Associate’s Degree and 4 years relevant experience
  • Must be able to live on campus in assigned housing year round and follow the no pet policy.

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings and weekends.

Required Skills:

  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty, staff and community
  • Demonstrated ability to implement programs that promote student retention
  • Valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree
  • Previous experience as a paraprofessional or professional staff member for a residence life program
  • Experience in building community in a university residential setting
  • Programming experience
  • Student staff supervision experience
