Montana Tech has an opening for a Computer Support Specialist III position.
This position will resolve complex problems; research, implement new technologies and provide advanced technical support to all faculty and staff (regardless of which department/college they reside in) troubleshoot problems, answer questions preventing/minimizing downtime for both Montana Tech campuses, North and Highlands.
He/She is responsible for communicating with various vendors in order to troubleshoot/implement new campus technologies; assisting with setup and maintenance of campus computer labs; determining issues/solutions for hardware and software; writing training manuals and training users.
Along with being responsible for providing technical support for the entire campus; each Computer Support Specialist is assigned a department/college that requires specialized support, for which they will perform the lead role. This will include installation and maintenance of college level hardware, software, peripheral equipment and operating systems; researching, designing, implementing, maintaining, and documenting the technology required by that department/college. This position will also be required to provide cross training to other Computer Support Specialists as well as the Computer Support Specialist Manager for the department/college for which they are responsible.
The hours of week for this position are generally Monday – Friday, 40 hours a week, 8 hours per day; however there are occasionally times the person will be required to be on call and potentially work an alternate schedule.
