Duties:
This position is for Program Coordinator II within the Departments of Environmental Engineering and Safety Health and Industrial Hygiene (SHIH). The position is responsible for managing the daily operation of the departments which include 5 separate degree programs at the undergraduate and graduate level, as well the coordination and execution of proposed degree program offerings within the departments. The position will serve as an initial contact person for students seeking departmental related degrees, specifically as SHIH plans to transition the BS level Occupational Safety and Health program to a degree-completion online option, and Env Engineering engages in recruitment and online masters of engineering offerings. The position will also make marketing decisions and develop educational/informational materials regarding the programs. Additionally, the position will manage general departmental budgets, faculty and student travel, publish newsletters, organize and manage symposiums and department external advisory board meetings, and assist with accreditation reporting. The position will require a highly motivated, organized individual with the ability to coordinate projects, multitask, solve problems, and work daily with diverse groups of individuals.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience coordinating programs and optimizing administrative processes.
- Proficiency with the full range of common office software, database management, and website content tools.
- Effective public relations, interpersonal, and communication skills,
- Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Earned associate's degree (or higher),
- experience in higher education,
- experience managing people,
- background in developing training, seminars, or other promotional materials,
- experience with grant management,
- BANNER software experience, and Oredigger Web experience.
Physical Demands:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer (keyboarding).
- Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds at times.
- May occasionally be required to stand, walk, climb stairs, reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
