Head Golf Coach
Part-Time

Duties:
The Head Golf Coach is responsible for leading the men’s and women’s golf programs, including planning and conducting practices, developing offseason training plans, coordinating team travel, and managing tournament participation. The coach will recruit student-athletes who align with the university’s academic and athletic standards, foster a positive and accountable team culture, and communicate regularly with student-athletes and athletic department staff. Administrative support is available when needed for travel logistics, scheduling, and eligibility processes.
- Required Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a background check
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Understanding of golf rules and tournament operations
- Ability to plan and lead structured practices and manage team logistics
- Availability to travel for competitions
- Commitment to supporting student-athletes both athletically and academically
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous coaching experience (collegiate, high school, or private instruction)
- Collegiate golf playing experience (NAIA, NCAA, or junior college level)
- Familiarity with swing mechanics and player development techniques
- Experience recruiting student-athletes in a collegiate or high school setting
- Knowledge of NAIA rules and eligibility standards
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive team culture
- Ties to Montana Tech, Butte, or the surrounding region
Physical Demands
- Ability to walk extended distances across golf courses during practices and tournaments
- Ability to carry or transport light equipment (e.g., golf bags, training aids)
- Ability to travel with the team, which may include long days and overnight trips
- Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Occasional lifting, bending, or standing for extended periods during practices or events
