DUTIES:The Department of Computer Science at Montana Tech is seeking qualified applicants for a high school outreach position starting August 2017. Responsibilities include organizing and presenting interactive coding demonstrations for Montana high schools, teaching computer science JumpStart dual enrollment courses, overseeing undergraduate tutors that will assist Montana high school students with CodeHS.com exercises, and interfacing with industry. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: A B.S. in Computer Science or closely related field with a Montana Educator License (or application made for a Class 8 certification within one month of hire). In addition, candidates will be expected to have experience with web content management; excellent verbal and written communications skills; flexibility to adapt to unexpected audiences and circumstances on the fly; ability to engage high school students in hands-on technology activities; and flexibility to change approaches based upon analysis of data. Candidates must be able to provide evidence of being a self-starter and being self-directed. Travel within the state is required.
